My biggest inspiration in life has been my grandfather. He taught me about service through a parable about circles. He said that a person’s ability to serve is based on how far their circle of responsibility extends. Small circle people only act in their own interests. Big circle people strive to better their community, and do so in a way that makes the whole world a little bit brighter. 

Systems work in the same way. Many of our systems serve the smallest circles, designed to concentrate the most amount of wealth among the fewest number of people — and the rest are left behind. Big circle systems value all that they touch — people and planet.

World Within is founded on the belief that we can't reform unjust systems — we have to create new ones. We are building a new economy that works for all. Because we are in the business of building bigger circles. Each investment we make, each story we tell, each event we host, is a seed of what is possible. With a little faith, a good deal of optimism, and an amazing community of partners, we are cultivating that big circle future my grandfather inspired me to believe in.
